Thank you to all that participated in our recent superintendents’ presentation. Regarding the topic of specifications, I believe we had some good discussion and participation. The conversation was a great first step and I’d like to keep that conversation going, so our goal is to utilize this blog to accomplish just that. Please contact me directly with any questions or comments you may have about the specifications you’re seeing out at your job sites, and we’ll post them here at this blog for everyone to follow and hopefully share their own ideas, comments, and experiences on the topics we’re discussing. Be sure to subscribe to our RSS feed to be notified when new posts or comments get added, or bookmark the construction category of our blog page, or just check back at our site often to stay on top of the conversation.
To get the ball rolling, we’ve already had our first topic sent to us:
“Formwork requirements seem to be what I was referring to as not fully aligned with ACI 117, which refers to these finishes with quantitative numbers such as, Class B (1/4-inch permitted irregularities), Class C (1/4- to 1/2-inch permitted irregularities) and so on. This is where we get bit by other contractors forcing their requirements on us, especially with regards to waterproofing.”
We want to hear from you about this issue. What do you think? What has been your experience in this area?
